Even the most severe cases of dental staining can typically be improved by having Dr. Taylor Goggins administer a dental bleaching treatment. However, this could leave a noticeable contrast between your professionally whitened tooth enamel and any old dental fillings that appear in your smile. This effect could also be compounded if your teeth have chips and minor dental fractures.

In a case such as this Dr. Taylor Goggins might recommend installing a porcelain dental veneer onto each tooth that appears in your smile. The special dental grade porcelain can be shaded to perfectly mimic the white appearance of natural tooth enamel.

If a tooth has been significantly altered by a physical defect, or it has very shallow tooth enamel, Dr. Taylor Goggins might recommend restoring it with a porcelain dental crown. This will completely replace the original tooth enamel layer with the same dental porcelain used for your dental veneers.

A second appointment will be needed once the dental lab has completed the dental veneers and any necessary dental crowns. Dr. Taylor Goggins will then cement the dental work into place with a strong dental adhesive.

If you live in the Broomfield, Colorado, area and your smile need cosmetic restoration, you should call 303-586-1019 to set up a consultation appointment at Denver Restorative Dentistry.

You probably know that headaches can be extremely annoying and fairly painful. Still, would you be surprised to learn that a headache can actually be caused by different dental problems? In fact, there are several reasons you could be getting these headaches. Similarly, there are a few things you can do if you’re suffering from a stiff jaw.

If you wake up with frequent head pains, you may be grinding your teeth. However, people typically grind their teeth when they are asleep—which can make grinding your teeth difficult to recognize. If you have been told that you make noises when you’re sleeping, you might be grinding your pearly whites. This can actually lead to several different dental issues, such as fractured, chipped, or cracked teeth or even tooth loss.

TMJ disorder is another problem that might lead to a sore jaw. Sadly, if you have TMJ disorder, you may struggle to move your jaw. Even opening and closing your mouth can be difficult if you have TMJ disorder. This happens because your TMJ is actually the joint that attaches your jaw to your skull. Unfortunately, if you do have TMJ disorder, you could unintentionally start grinding your teeth.

A sore or a stiff TMJ may also be caused by anxious feelings. As you may know, some people clench their teeth if they’re nervous or afraid. Unfortunately, this can put extreme pressure on your TMJ. Luckily, there are a few solutions you can consider if you do clench your pearly whites. Please contact us or your doctor if you’re interested in hearing more about coping with these problems.
